CHARNOCK RICHARD GOLF CLUB18 hole resort style golf course. It is fairly flat but the water features and trees create an interesting and enjoyable course, which can be played at 2-fore-1 rates. The course was in very good condition with excellent greens which reward good putting. Without a strokesaver you will need to assess risks on the ground and identify the best approach to each green. Good ball striking is essential and being able to shape tee shots will help on the longer par 4's. |
The high handicapper will need to concentrate on avoiding the hazards and playing for accuracy not length. The firm, fast USPGA greens will not stop many long approach shots and are protected by runoffs into rough so play safe and lay up when unsure.Holes Of Note:
6th - par 5 with water at driving distance in front of the tee and right in front of the green.
7th - the tee shot must clear a lake to enable a fairway wood approach over water to the green.
16th - the tee of this 206 yard par 3 is on a small island.
Recommended Handicap 28
