HARTLEPOOL GOLF CLUBWell established links course set on low cliffs and rolling dunes behind Hartlepool's high sea wall. Though this par 70 course is quite short at 5832 yards, it has deep rough, bunkers, and blind shots. |
The heavy sea fret made the front nine holes difficult but the greens were receptive and in good condition. The wide fairways allow some leeway but the hilly course gives some awkward lies as well as the blind shots to greens and some fairways. The high handicapper is advised to play for the fairways to avoid the rough and lost balls. The good condition of the wide fairways and large greens offers an enjoyable round. |
6th - blind tee shot over the crown of a hill to leave a mid iron shot to the elevated green.
11th - a long (212 yard) uphill par 3 over a stream and at the mercy of the coastal wind.
Recommended Handicap 28
