HAWKSTONE PARK GOLF CLUBTwo 18 hole courses in excellent condition, in the stunning landscape of the historic park which gives its name to the Club. We played the shorter and wetter Windmill Course, which uses the land's contours and some water hazards to challenge golfers of all abilities. |
The course was in very good condition with firm fairways, which were sometimes quite narrow. The water and sand hazards on some of the holes require careful shot selection and execution to avoid disaster. The greens were firm and quite fast, often with deceptive contours to test the putter. The high handicapper will find the course difficult due to the narrow fairways, mature trees, thick rough and other hazards. However, some thought about how to avoid the major hazards should minimise your scores. This is a course which requires accuracy rather than length so leave your driver in the bag!
Holes Of Note:
4th - uphill par 4 which plays longer than its 344 length with some difficult lies.
10th - unnerving par 5 which doglegs right around a lake.
Recommended Handicap 22
