The clifftop holes offer dramatic coastal views SCARBOROUGH SOUTH CLIFF GOLF CLUB

A fine old course combining parkland and clifftop links. The spectacular views from many tees are matched by the exposure to coastal winds, which bring the deep pot bunkers and rough into play on many holes.

When the wind blows, prepare to be tested! The evenly paced greens were in good condition and approachable from the wide fairways. The longer holes can be shortened by a tailwind but are demanding otherwise.

The high handicapper is advised to play conservatively to avoid the rough and bunkers. ...and carry some spare balls.

Holes Of Note:

7th - hitting the green of this par 3 is essential because of the deep pot bunkers cut into the hillside.

15th - long doglegged par 4 requiring position off the tee to allow a shot over a deep swale to the green.

Recommended Handicap 28
