Thirsk and Northallerton's excellent greens, even in winter.THIRSK AND NORTHALLERTON GOLF CLUB

Challenging parkland course with fine greens and undulating fairways. The original nine holes are dominated by mature woodland and small streams, contrasting with the staked trees and modern bunkering of the newer holes to give a good test of your golf.

Even in winter the fairways and greens were in good condition on a quiet course. In summer the twisting fairways, longer rough, and many streams will require good club selection and accuracy. The generously sized and well contoured greens reward consistent putting.

The high handicapper should place accuracy over distance on tee shots and stay on the fairway. The "shotmiser" will help to identify a route to bogey on most holes but this course will be an enjoyable test of your chipping and putting.

Holes Of Note:

16th - a short par 4 needing an accurate drive between two streams to a short pitch for birdie.

Recommended Handicap 28
