 VILAMOURA MILLENNIUM GOLF COURSEBrand new chanpionship course which offers a variety of challenges with mature forest, twisting fairways, and water hazards. We played it in immaculate condition with very fast firm greens and tough pin positions. The course is flat and relies upon the hazards to give shape to the holes. The wooded holes, 3 to 7 and 13 to 16, resemble Vilamoura's Old Course and contrast completely with the more open parts of the course. |
 The course is open with the hazards on view. For a new course the trees and undegrowth around the fairways are well established, making a reckless tee shot riskier than you might have expected. The Strokesaver is very helpful for longer approach shots to the heavily contoured greens.Aside from tackling a few water hazards the high handicapper will find this as fair a challenge as the low handicapper. Being sensible on the tee will help your score - leave the driver in the bag unless you are very sure! The firm greens will not stop many approach shots so practice your chipping and putting before you go out. |
Holes Of Note:
4th - tight par 5 in style of Old Course.
13th - par 4 with water in front of tee and well bunkered green.
18th - par 5 with water on right, cutting in front of green.
