Withington GC's first hole.WITHINGTON GOLF CLUB
This challenging club course is over one hundred years old with the accompanying history and character. It is 6,400 yards long but easily walked as it is fairly flat. The holes are varied placing emphasis on both shot selection and ball striking. The greens are quite fast but remarkably consistent in pace and grain, placing a premium on putting.

Withington GC's seventh hole. The narrow fairways, punishing rough, deep bunkers, and contoured greens were in excellent condition. Many of the holes require a solid iron or a shaped tee shot with a wood due to the narrow dog legged fairways lined by trees. Straying into the trees or the rough generally means taking the medicine. The bunkers are equally worthy of respect. From the opening par 3 to the tough finishing holes this is a great club course which demands strategy and accuracy for a good score.

Withington GC's fourth hole. The high handicapper will enjoy the course's character but must play conservatively to stay on the fairways. If you stray into the trees or rough, take a sensible recovery shot.

Holes Of Note:

2nd - par 4 requiring drawn wood or straight iron from its elevated tee to fairway going left.

5th - short par 5 left dogleg to a small green surrounded by trees, sand, and water.

8th - 180 yard par 3 over a large tree to a large sloping green.

16th - long par 5 with fairway and greenside bunkers, introduces the hard finish to this course.

Recommended Handicap 22
